The beauty of whirling square’s
In the title of this work i make a reference to the whirling square’s of the golden rectangle.
The golden rectangle is a shape often used in classic and Renaissance architecture and art. One of its distinctive feature is that when you subtract a square, that which remains is another golden rectangle hence this action can be repeated ad infinitum.
If one then draws a line from successive points dividing the golden rectangle in square’s one finds algorithmic spiral following a series of numbers called the Fibonacci numbers.
Hence you get a series of square’s whirling down from a Fibonacci spiral.
In this work i play with this thought by showing seven cubes in rainbow colors in a frame as though they are shining down from the light
